Nimba Iron Ore
The Nimba Iron Ore Project is located in southeastern Guinea
The Nimba Iron Ore Project is located in southeastern Guinea, only 700 meters from the border with Côte d’Ivoire and 26 kilometers from Liberia’s Tokadeh railway. This strategic position provides direct access to established transport infrastructure and export routes, ensuring efficient logistics for long-term operations.
The project hosts an estimated 80 million tonnes of high-grade, friable direct shipping ore (DSO), suitable for low-power mining and crushing. The first phase of development is designed to produce 16.5 million tonnes of DSO grading 63–64% Fe over a five-year period, using a straightforward drill-and-blast mining method.
Beyond this initial phase, the project has the potential to expand production to 10 million tonnes per annum for a 20 year life of mine, while consistently maintaining iron content above 61-62%% Fe. This phased approach provides a balance of low-risk development and strong long-term growth potential.
